Save The Bay Invites Volunteers to Engage in Statewide Cleanups and #SeaTheChange at Ocean Conservancy’s 41st Annual International Coastal Cleanup
RHODE ISLAND – September 9 – Save The Bay, Rhode Island’s coordinator for Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), is calling on volunteers to #SeaTheChange and join the global effort to remove and document trash from beaches, waterways, and lakes. As part of the 41st annual ICC, cleanup events will take place across Rhode Island from September through November. Volunteers can learn more and sign up for a cleanup at savebay.org/icc.
Volunteers can join one of the many Save The Bay-hosted cleanups across the state or collect data at a cleanup of their own using the Ocean Conservancy’s award-nominated Clean Swell® app (available for free download from the App Store and Google Play). Additionally, scout troops, neighborhood groups, watershed organizations, teachers and others can also participate by organizing their own cleanups. WHEN: September 12, 2026 through November 2026
WHERE: Cleanups in coastal towns, lakes, ponds and other waterways across Rhode Island (cleanups still being scheduled).
