The 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award Winner

Renay Houle

She was so dedicated and prepared, that July Lewis, our Volunteer and Internship Manager, approached her about cleanup leadership and, before long, she trained and quickly became our most frequent and expert shoreline cleanup leaders.

When cleanup season concluded, she began volunteering in the office. Being experienced in development and fundraising, she began helping Save The Bay with donor thank-you calls. She has also helped us with paperwork archive management, digitizing old forms for our records.

Before long, Renay started supporting our events and outreach tabling efforts as well. So far, she has logged 391 hours of volunteering, with more hours every week!

Renay is a volunteer powerhouse, and we are very grateful she has adopted Save The Bay as her charity of choice. Her dedication, volunteer leadership, and willingness to do whatever is needed most makes Renay especially deserving of the honor of Save The Bay’s volunteer of the year!
