Save The Bay’s Public Access Policy Sign – Providence Bay Center
Save The Bay’s grounds, pier, floating breakwater and kayak launch are open for passive public access from sunrise to sunset. Use of this property is at the visitor’s own risk and we do not assume any liability for visitors’ actions or personal property.
Trash receptacles and bathroom facilities are not available. There is no lifeguard on duty at this site.
Save The Bay reserves the right to limit or prohibit public access occasionally to accommodate private events, maintenance, safety, and other reasons.
Portions of this property are especially subject to water and weather-related conditions, and Save The Bay undertakes no responsibility to monitor conditions or to inform the public as to specific risks or to prohibit or limit use of any portion of this property at times or during conditions of particular risk.
The Save The Bay Center, boathouse and dock area are private and not subject to this public access policy.
Rules & Regulations
- The grounds, pier, floating breakwater and kayak launch are open from sunrise to sunset.
- Visitors must adhere to a “Carry in / Carry out” policy for all trash.
- Parking for the pier, floating breakwater and kayak launch is restricted to the designated “Public Pier” parking spaces.
- Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- Touch-and-go docking on the floating breakwater is allowed when open.
- U.S. Coast Guard Approved Type III personal floatation devices (lifejackets) are recommended for anyone on the pier, floating breakwater and kayak launch.
- The floating breakwater and kayak launch are closed November 15 – April 15.
Prohibited
- Littering
- Organized events are not allowed
- Alcohol, illegal drug use and smoking
- Open fires, fireworks and firearms
- Overnight parking, camping and docking, other than permitted touch-and-go
- Tents, trailers and campers
- ATVs, dirt bikes and other off-road vehicles
- Swimming, jumping and diving
- Unleashed pets (Pets must be leashed at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up messes)
