Seal Watch FAQ
Our Seal and Nature Cruises run out of Westerly, R.I. and run October-November, departing from Watch Hill Boat Yard. Our Seal Tours run out of Newport, R.I. November-December, departing from Perrotti Park. Tours are mostly on weekends, but also run on holidays and school vacations. Times vary due to scheduling around low tide (the best condition to view seals).
Seals are migratory animals and are only here fall through early spring. Join us on a tour to find out where they spend their summer months!
In Westerly, parking is available at the Watch Hill Boat Yard parking lot. In Newport, there is some street parking along America’s Cup and nearby streets, but we always recommend parking at the Gateway Center (about a 5 minute walk to Perrotti Park).
Our tours should be considered outdoor activities – seal tours run during the coldest winter months. We recommend dressing in layers! The back of the boat is open to the elements and is not heated. There are some seats located under the roof surrounded by vinyl windows but not heated. Click here to view our vessels.
